Gabriela Steiner-Scharfetter, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK
TOUR 3, DATE 2: DESIGN IN VIENNA, INNER CITY
Sa 30.09.2017, 10am–12pm
Old handicrafts and young design ideas, almost forgotten manufacturing techniques and new business ideas, tradition and innovation – the range of this tour through Vienna’s inner city is huge: On their tour of discovery, participants visit projects as part of the Passionswege – cooperative ventures between contemporary international designers and old-established local craft firms that share knowledge in open work processes and use it for innovative installations, objects, or furniture. Innovative processes shed light this year for instance on fascinating natural phenomena and the passion for silver is coupled with the passion for the dance as a series of the most exquisite craftsmanship in silver. Rare sights behind the scenes!
