kidsroomZOOM will be showing a snapshot of contemporary design for children, with 25 selected international designers coming together to decorate a flat for children. This new format was developed in 2010 by the children’s furniture designers Thomas Maitz
(perludi, Graz) and Paola Noé (the gallery unduetrestella – Design for
Kids, Milan) and has already been successfully exhibited at the Milan
Furniture Fair 2011 and at the Graz Design Month 2011.

The project unites contemporary art, a product presentation, events, and workshops as a way of creating a network revolving around the subject of children. Under the slogan ‘How r u?’ adults put themselves on a level with youngsters and question the positioning of and children’s access to furniture and everyday objects. Ecology, value consciousness, and responsibility for the coming generations are concepts that play an instrumental role here.
