And the Winner is...

Every year many tourists visit Vienna with excitement and interest. After their stay they want to take a piece of the city home with them. But here is the question: How must a souvenir of the 21st century look?

The aim of this competition is to enhance the contemporary image of Vienna as creative city of design. Studio Formafantasma has reinvented the symbolism on the cards. These present a classic and nuanced portrait of the Viennese culture and also brings back an old coffeehouse culture.

Six European designteams were evaluated by an international panel of experts in the fields of design and tourism. Alice Rawsthorn (design critic, International Herald Tribune, London), Ewa Esterhazy, (Managing Director, MAK Design Shop, Vienna), Galit Gaon (Chief Curator, Design Museum Holon, Israel), Gregor Eichinger (designer and architect, Vienna) und Norbert Kettner (Managing Director, Vienna Tourist Board).
