Today at 6pm! Taut Taut - Opening

A soft tactile architecture made form the Carpets of VORWERK – a pavilion to celebrate material and public spaces, and collaboration between Bethan Wood of WOOD London and Oscar Wanless of Silo Studio.

The Dome is based on the geometry of Taut’s Glass Pavilion of 1914 and his ideas of shared public space to build Utopias. He was a champion of colour. He was one of the few modernist Architects that was very expressive with form, breaking the orthogonal grid. Taut’s pavilion, arguably the initiator to the geodesic dome. The Glass Pavilion was dismantled shortly after the Cologne Werkbund Exhibition; only a few photographs survive. Taut was undoubtedly a great inspiration to fellow Utopian Buckminster Fuller; Both proposed new models of architecture to stimulate positive change.
