Lohnerwerke GmbH

They were the high-tech pioneers of the era of king and emperor, built the first electric automobile in 1899 and two years later the first hybrid automobile in the world: the Lohnerwerke in Vienna. Beside technical finesse, design was the company’s outstanding trade mark, whether invested in the emperor’s horse-carriage, aircraft like the Etrich-Taube or the motor scooters of the nineteen-fifties and –sixties. In 2013, Lohner celebrated its comeback with the exclusive electric scooters for urban micro-mobility, Lea and Luke, designed by Valentin Vodev and Clarissa Prunbauer – and for the first time provides a view of the development from the idea to the finished product.
