The Austrian textile designer Selina Reiterer, born in 1985, studied at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee and ENSCI – Les Ateliers in Paris. Working between the fields of art and design, her work focuses on creating textiles and conducting material research. Combining a curiosity for traditional textile techniques with new emerging technologies, her experimental approach allows her to explore a wide range of perspectives within contemporary textile and surface design. With an eye for details and an interest in culture and craftsmanship, Reiterer experiments with the diverse aspects of materiality and structure. Recently, she has been working on a funded research project at ETH Zurich focusing on crossdisciplinary ideas, linking technology and aesthetic concepts with an emphasis on contemporary textile design as well as wearable technologies.
