Founded in 2008 by Sascha Mikel, Martin Schnabl, and Michael Tatschl, breadedEscalope concentrates on the cultural relevance of spaces and consumer goods. The goal is to develop strategies for socially sustainable objects. Their works demonstrate a ques-
tioning exploration of the function and necessity of contemporary design as a component of models for modern life. From this discourse conceptual solutions are defined that promote an open dialogue and a discriminating attitude towards the components of everyday life. Works of a performance or experimental nature are developed alongside products that are intended to be useful. The supposed contradiction in this juxtaposition challenges the boun-
daries between the practices of the visual and applied arts. The inherent paradigm shift characterises the operating principles and the overall image of the studio.
