Martí Guixé (Barcelona 1964) calls himself an “ex-designer” and is breaking through the confines of the traditional concept of design. By the mid-1990s, the native Catalonian had already begun formulating a new understanding of the culture of products. His unconventional view of things generate simple, personal ideas of a wilful earnestness. Guixé works in his studio in Barcelona and in Berlin, at the interface between interior architecture, industry and food design. This includes products for such firms as Alessi, Danese, Droog and Magis, shops for Camper and more, food objects, and free installations (Alberto Alessi requested).
