The architecture and research platform ECÒL was founded in 2016 by Emanuele Barili, Cosimo Balestri, Olivia Gori, and Lorenzo Perri. Its members have been working in Prato, Florence and London since 2010. ECÒL believes in architecture that is rich in symbolism and possesses the ability to shape spaces. The platform’s work concentrates on the development of multi-disciplinary cooperative ventures that promote an integrative approach while blurring the borders between architectural praxis and theory. ECÒL’s field of action ranges wide, from international competitions to public spatial interventions on a smaller scale.
