30.9.–8.10.2011
Sharpening the five senses – smell, taste, touch, hearing, and
sight – while you enjoy a nice glass of wine. First, the sense of sight will be called into action: What is the label like? Then comes the sense of touch: How does the bottle feel in the hand? Finally, the cork will be noisily removed, and the sound of the wine being poured will be followed by the awakened senses of smell and taste: the awareness of the bouquet, the first sip...
The installation will be located at a winery, where all of these perceptions are moreorless consciously celebrated on a daily basis. The overdrawn aids to the senses, such as flowers for the bouquet or the typical sounds of a bottle of wine being opened as a sound stage will allow the sensory perceptions to be filtered individually or synesthetically registered together. The intoxication of the senses in this installation can be experienced completely without a hangover!
