Even before completing his studies in industrial design at the Vienna University of Applied Arts, Adam Wehsely-Swiczinsky was already working as a designer, carpenter, and musician. Afterwards he opened up his own studio, aws designteam. He worked as a designer for TYROLIA HTM, taught at the Vienna University of Applied Arts, and has exhibited at numerous shows and trade fairs. Among his many prizes are the IF Design Award, the German Design Prize, and four red dot Design Awards. During his Laboratory stay as part of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, he and Ewald Neuhofer will be dealing ‘with recognisable common elements in products and with future possibilities for acknowledging the source in product design’.
