food tools – A Food Design-Performance
HONEY & BUNNY
4.10.2011, 5pm–8pm
Located in a workshop, Sonja Stummerer, Martin Hablesreiter and Tom Hanslmaier will be preparing and serving food using the tools and machines of a craftsman. ‘Food tools’ is a playful attempt to address and enable the transfer of technical knowledge between ‘classical’ industrial design and food design. Food will be prepared
with drills, circular saws, and milling machines. Simultaneously,
biochemical processes as design processes will be dealt with using
so-called ‘molecular gastronomical’ methods.
Visitors will be presented with a machine choreography with biochemical elements to watch. Afterwards each guest will be served a different part of the designer food, all strictly choreographed.
Plates made of meat, spoons milled from carrot as ‘semi-material’, and other edible tools will appear.
