As part of an installation, the NEUE WIENER WERKSTÄTTE will be showing the ‘M3 Chair’ by the Austrian designer Thomas Feichtner. This one-of-a-kind piece represents a contrast to the serially produced ‘FX10 Lounge Chair’, an earlier design by Feichtner, which has already become an Austrian design classic. Freed of the requirements of a series product, this design not only experiments with static and function, but also relies on the craftsmanship of the traditional company NEUE WIENER WERKSTÄTTE & KAPO. The measurements of the ‘M3’ are exactly equal to one cubic metre, hence the name ‘M3 (m3) Chair’, which represents a type of conscious appropriation of its own space.
