The works of contemporary Hungarian design are to be regarded not only as individual accomplishments but also embody a continuity in intellectual achievements and creative potential. All objects in the show “Continuous Present” are placed in referential relation to the past and in the dialogue with earlier works of Hungarian design and visual culture. Past and present form an inseparable unity based on the richness of local contents and references.
The show debuted in the programme series World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 and is a joint event of the Collegium Hungaricum Wien and the Hungarian Design Council, curated by Rita Mária Halasi.
