Originally a saddlery, the company of Wittmann with headquarters not far from Vienna has developed in over a hundred years into the upholstered furniture specialists. The producers are remarkable for their precision, exactitude and superb craftsmanship, so that the phrase “genuine Wittmann” has become their trade mark.
The Dutch designer duo Daphna Laurens worked out a project with Wittmann; they create furniture and products full of wit and surprises. Organic forms are just as much a part of their repertoire as are oddities and an explorative approach. Their objects are often loveable, almost anthropomorphic characters.
