Sterkl the Butchers is an Ottakring original and family business established for generations on the Brunnenmarkt in Vienna. They produce everything themselves, particularly the local “classics” such as “extrawurst” – special pork sausage – brawn and “Sacher” sausage and every Wednesday fresh lights (offal).
The versatile design duo of March Gut working in Linz, Christoph March and Marek Gut, will have a close look round at Sterkl’s, study the sausage products and as part of the Passionswege find an ingenious answer to the question of what contemporary product design can achieve in a traditional Viennese butcher’s.
