Against the backdrop of the Vienna skyline the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK presented the result of a successful collaboration in 2015. The airy, breathtaking living room environment gathered together examples from the latest works of Austrian furniture design. The edition by Interio Austria – realized by Janet Kath in record time – showed archetypal furniture reinterpreted by contemporary Austrian designers. The VIENNA DESIGN OFFICE headed by Lilli Hollein decided on the participating designers. In the imposing Skylofts of the Brotfabrik Wien the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK now showed in the setting of a living room how a Bauernschrank – a rustic cupboard – can be sophisticatedly urban, or how a sofa can be anything other than cozily conventional.
