DRAWING PUBLIC SPACE - Work in Progress

ECÒL

29.9.–4.10.2017

„We define pure geometry as an accomplished architectural gesture, as an immediate spatial producer. Looking for a new iconography still rich of symbolism, we use geometry as a tool to intuitively address human reactions and to trigger spontaneous social engagement.“

Treated as an urban canvas, the floor of Schwendermarkt is given a new look using colored tapes. Lines, tiles, and paths are designed to motivate people to roam through the public space and to join in spontaneous interaction in the district. Schools and local people join in, making the large-scale pattern into an arena for workshops and informal talks.
