A festival like the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK offers opportunities to exhibit new products, try out bold experiments, and explore entirely different types of presentation. The approach chosen by Barbara Gollackner and Michael Walder could be termed contrarian. In the Mediterranean ambiance of the Hotel am Brillantengrund, they relied on proven methods, brought out favorites and limited series produced in earlier contexts, and showed designs that never got beyond the prototype phase. And all this was done with an extraordinary culinary accompaniment. Once again, it was proven that fresh air’s good for you.
