MAK DESIGN SUMMIT: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – GENUINE EMOTIONS. HOW ROBOTS SHAPE OUR LIVES

MAK – Österreichisches Museum für angewandte Kunst / Gegenwartskunst

30.9.2017, 2pm–6pm

Today, we depend on intelligent devices to get us through our daily lives. We trust our smart assistants to navigate us through strange cities, remind us of appointments, and keep us informed at all times on any given topic. Anyone who’s had to dispense with a smartphone for an entire (work) day knows how dependent we’ve become on these clever little devices – and how helpless we are when it turns out they are not quite as smart as we thought. For the conclusion of the exhibition HELLO, ROBOT., the designers Jan de Coster and Tal Erez explored themes relating to the robotized future in their keynotes, creating a basis for a panel discussion touching upon design, business, and philosophy.
