Vandasye
28.9.–7.10.2018
In light of the setting, one might guess that this careful selection of the best examples of Austrian product design is a barn party, a celebration of regional design. In a large shed flooded with fall light, a show window that festival director Lilli Hollein wanted to be seen as the continuation of a series started the previous year that should in the future be on display internationally. Here, under the curatorial auspices of one of the country’s best design teams, functional objects used every day were shown along with the underlying processes. The exhibition DESIGN EVERYDAY – DESIGN FÜR DEN GEBRAUCH showed the significance of design for products’ innovation and competitiveness, using as examples selected works of Austrian designers. On show were objects by arge2, aws designteam, bonpart, EOOS, Johannes Scherr, Klemens Schillinger, Lucy.D, Lukas Klingsbichel, Lukas Novak, Marco Dessí, mischer’traxler studio, MO-NI-KA, Moya Hoke, Patrick Rampelotto, Peter Noever and Andrea Lenardin, Rainer Mutsch, Ralf Stauss and Edward Richardson, Robert Rüf, Sebastian Leitinger, Christoph Möller, Stefan Radinger, Stephanie Hornig, Thomas Feichtner, Vera Wiedermann, Walking Chair Design Studio, Christoph Gredler, and others.
