Swarovski stands for incomparable radiance, excellent craftsmanship, and masterful design – qualities recognized by the Swarovski Award for Excellence in Austrian Design, presented for the first time in 2018 in partnership with the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. The glittering, and more than deserving, winner: Klemens Schillinger. Just like Swarovski itself, he has been a loyal festival companion for years. During the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, an installation was created in the Swarovski Kristallwelten Store on Vienna’s Kärntner Straße as an homage to the ornamental design of Viennese Modernism. Center stage was occupied by an extraordinary chandelier named “Lustrous Aura,” created by the Dutch designer Tord Boontje. In addition, the store presented hand-picked objects from Atelier Swarovski’s Home Decór collection.
