The Schloss Hollenegg for Design showcase is always a herald of summer. That’s when the institution invites teams of international designers to spend extended residencies in Southern Styria. At the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, a selection of works from 2018 was on display: During their stay, breadedEscalope (table made of redwood), Commonplace (video of the landscape surrounding the castle that starts when touched), Odd Matter (rug), and Belén (textile) worked with the concept of legacy and inheritance. The result was reflections closely related to the place they were created. Also on display was a “grungy” collage (lady of the castle Alice Stori Liechtenstein) that presented the works in their original context. A private show in the best sense.
