Mission Pee Power! How art, research, ceramics, and sustainable design can be intertwined in a pioneering way was on display at a sneak preview at the new LAUFEN Innovation Hub. In cooperation with EOOS, a seemingly futuristic project was developed that transforms urine into electric power by means of microbial fuel cells produced by the Bristol Robotics Laboratory. The centerpiece was provided by ceramic cylinders, an equally important part of the LAUFEN Innovation Hub’s launch as the artworks from the Gmunden ceramics symposium presented there and the discussion with prominent participants. A precision landing at just the right time. And also a bold design mission that the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK would gladly join again in the future.
