The city center is a veritable crystallization point of design. Traditional crafts and artistic reinterpretations meet there, contemporary galleries stand next to venerable businesses and new exhibition spaces. On a tour of discovery through the diversity of design in Vienna’s center, participants visited projects that are part of the Passionswege and gained exclusive knowledge about the productive interplay of traditional Viennese handicraft businesses and international artists and designers. The objects and installations created in the runup to the festival testified to a symbiotic coexistence and the crystalline materials sugar and glass played an important role in 2018.
