A poetic installation as a scenario of a farewell party has been the icing on the cake of every festival visit. In cooperation with the renowned landscape-architecture office of Maria Auböck and Janos Kárász, and the garden center bellaflora, a setting was created on the spectacular roof terrace of the Festival Headquarters in the former Sophienspital under the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK’s supervision, a setting that addressed the intertwining of urban nature and design. Aligned with the building’s grid, a dialogue took place between the rampant nature of the covered beds, crops waving gently in the breeze, and silvery exercise balls bouncing around. A sculptural examination with the inherent grace of a mountain panorama and a farewell to the architecture of Martin Kohlbauer.
