As part of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2020, the multidisciplinary creative studio Engelstein & Grünberger offered an invitation to visit its premises. Or – more specifically – its new space-within-a-space. Because Engel-stein & Grün-berger studios has created a temporary ground-floor space for the digital startup THESTEEL.COM, which was open to visitors, just once, during VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. This is an answer to a wealth of questions regarding optimal working infrastructures in the digital culture. Questions such as: what sorts of spaces are needed by people who work digitally? What is the appropriate setting for a young company, whose identity must develop gradually? Exclusively and directly on location, visitors were able to chat – in, for example, the wonderfully designed kitchenette – about the surprising outcomes that can be brought to light by polycreatives and multisensual working and what the creative studio means when it applies its self-created term Heartdirection to companies and brands.
