TEAM TOUR: Passionswege

VIENNA DESIGN WEEK / Lilli Hollein & Gabriel Roland

VIENNA DESIGN WEEK

26.9.2020, 4pm–6pm

Participants in the PASSIONSWEGE Team Tour were able to enjoy a double dose of design expertise. Lilli Hollein and Gabriel Roland — the joint, so to say, spearhead of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK – guided visitors through their favorite project PASSIONSWEGE as a double act. For the past 15 years, the Passionswege have offered festival visitors personal insights into the studios, workshops, and factories of former suppliers to the imperial court, with whom the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK realizes projects in cooperation with European designers. For a number of reasons, 2020 brought a scaled-down version of the Passionswege: a project by the Swiss artist Daniela Schönbächler at J. & L. Lobmeyr,. Hence, but this isan anniversary exhibition featuring projects from previous years – which was designed by Klemens Schillinger (an “alumnus” of the Passionswege) and Eldine Heep – was also curated and presented in the Festival Headquarters. Lilli Hollein, who has curated the project for 15 years, and Gabriel Roland, who has been co-curator for much of this time, invited visitors to both the exhibition in Meidling and to J. & L. Lobmeyr in Kärtnerstraße.
