A festival program is like one’s own children: Each individual item should receive equal treatment. And yet: Towards the end of the festival, Lilli Hollein, director and co-founder of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, singled out aspects of the 2020 festival that, from the perspective of the unquenchably enthusiastic design communicator, one simply shouldn’t have missed. The identity of these was revealed at first hand to the participants in the Team Tour with Lilli. Interested festival visitors were guided by her personally through the headquarters in the Amtshaus Theresienbadgasse. This offered a unique opportunity to directly question the festival organizer and the designers who were present about their intentions, visions, and design processes. The stations of this “Private View” included the exhibitions DESIGN SWITZERLAND, 15 JAHRE PASSIONSWEGE, the presentation by the AA nanotourism visiting school, RADO RADO TRUE THINLINE LES COULEURS™ LE CORBUSIER, and the VIRTUAL FESTIVAL HEADQUARTERS.
