Brands play a significant role in shaping our cultural environment. They are an integral part of that which we recognize as our everyday aesthetic. With their presence, positioning, and values they create relationships and loyalties and establish long-term cultural and national identity. Brands belong to the self-image of our country – just like our sport, our cuisine, and our art and architecture. The exhibition, curated by Christian Thomas, takes a look at tales of how things got started, at key moments and current challenges, at stories about people and families, designers and design. And, in so doing, it turns the spotlight on the histories of Austrian cult brands.
