When Rosa Rogina was invited, with the support of the British Council, to be last year’s curator-in-residence at the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, it rapidly became clear that it wouldn’t be possible for the Londoner to be present in person. But this didn’t stop Rogina from performing her role. She took advantage of the entire digital offering of the 2020 festival, carried out countless conversations, and eventually drew up a report, which places the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK in its international context. 

Jumping forward to 2021: Rosa Rogina has been invited to the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK again, this time in order to present her research. On the one hand, a visualization of the festival network that she developed as part of her report is on show in the Festival Headquarters. On the other hand, Rogina will deliver a lecture, in which she presents her outsider’s insight into two very special editions of the festival. Postponed doesn’t mean cancelled!
