Unlike the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK (which is only here temporarily as a guest), countless artists and ateliers have been based in Brigittenau for many years. Alongside these many studios, one can also find dozens of off spaces all of which are dedicated to showing contemporary art from Vienna. The tour OFF SPACES: BRIGITTE, NOW! visits selected, artist-run off spaces and hackspaces in Vienna’s 20th district. Participants will explore exhibitions, discuss potential overlaps with the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, and, in doing so, arrive at an understanding of design appropriate to them as a tour group.
