From movement to movements: Visitors have two opportunities to join project manager Hanna Facchinelli as she explores this year’s Focus District Brigittenau by bike, crisscrossing it in line with the special subject of resilient neighborhoods. The three selected social design contributions of the format that is realized in cooperation with and with the support of Erste Bank take very different paths in the direction of a resilience that is aligned with social space: While Max Scheidl’s playful intervention ARTISANS OF PUBLIC PSYCHE focuses upon individual psychological resilience, Marlene Lübke-Ahrens and Wolfgang Novotny highlight urban planning aspects. Their project MISSING-LINK shows how the unused potential of an abandoned viaduct on the Stadtbahn railway can be accessed with the help of a relatively small built intervention – a temporary High Line Park for Vienna! In turn, IM20.WIEN from the IDRV – the Institute of Design Research revolves around the use of a Google Docs list as a knowledge pool. This illustrates how societies can be organized and formed in physical and digital spaces.
