Where better to get to know a neighborhood and its inhabitants than in the Beisl, the pub? The VIENNA DESIGN WEEK invites its visitors to discover Mariahilf on a tour of its pubs with two special guests from the district. In beer gardens, pubs, and coffee houses, or at the sausage stand, participants will learn more about the district and its local gastronomic culture in discussion with the invited hosts and with the regulars and the staff of the various establishments. How has Mariahilf changed over the years? Who meets whom where? And what stories do such establishments tell us about the district? 

Odie is a drag performer from the 6th district, activist as well as art teacher at a high school. Odie researches drag in public space. In the context of this Beisltour, participants explore the queer history of the district.
