The intense dialogue that LAUFEN has been conducting with the world of design, architecture, and art for many years has led to a cooperation with the architectural office NM3 from Milan. Together with NM3, which belongs to the Italian tradition of modernist furniture design, LAUFEN is currently working on a range of mobile furnishing elements. The purist concept envisages products that are cut, shaped, and folded from single-origin stainless steel and screwed together to form unique design objects. In the Festival Headquarters in the GEWÖLBE, the three-dimensional audiovisual installation JUST ADD WATER now offers an impressive preview of the limited edition of stainless steel furniture and accessories: Video meets spatial sound, steel meets ceramic, NM3 meets LAUFEN.
The installation was realized together with the architects Nicolò Ornaghi and Francesco Zorzi of NM3 and the photographer Delfino Sisto Legnani. The videos were made by Marc Comes, a Berlin-based film director, and the Milan film collective No Text Azienda.
There will also be a talk with Jan Boelen on the topic of social design on 19.9. in the LAUFEN space Vienna at 6.30pm (registration required).
