The Vollpension is ten years old! What could be more fitting than to celebrate this anniversary at the place where it all began – the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK? Because it was the 2012 festival that provided the opportunity to breathe life into the Vollpension – and a Stadtarbeit best practice example was born. “But, rather than wallowing in our memories, we want to present everything that’s happened in the last few years,” say the birthday people, who are transforming their old location on Mariahilfer Straße into a Vollpension pop-up. For a whole ten days, they will serve up coffee and (birthday) cake, accompanied by worldly-wisdom, and discuss important social issues such as poverty amongst the old, isolation, and intergenerational dialogue.
