Can groundbreaking discoveries such as those made by Nicolaus Copernicus also be made in the field of design? What can we still describe as a discovery in the 21st century? And if Copernicus is our model – who can still be described as a discoverer anyway? 2023 marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. His interdisciplinary approach is the inspiration for an exhibition in four categories: #Health, #Home, #City, and #Ritual. EXPLORERS – DISCOVERIES IN DESIGN shows how young Polish designers have repeatedly been ahead of their time, predicted trends, and addressed key social and ecological issues.
