The powerful bond between the MAK and LOBMEYR is a direct continuation of the idea behind the establishment of the museum: to act as an exemplary institution that contributes to the interaction between art and industry. This energetic interchange was one of the cornerstones of the innovative strength of the glassmaking dynasty. In its cooperations with well-known designers, LOBMEYR repeatedly interprets glass in a contemporary manner. The special event during the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK acknowledges and celebrates this fact, while also marking the end of the exhibition “Glitz and Glamour. 200 Years of Lobmeyr.” Free entry with the password “VIENNA DESIGN WEEK” – and the tours are also free.

Other events marking the 200th anniversary of LOBMEYR: The Vienna Furniture Museum is also showing the exhibition SCHÖNER TRINKEN, at Kärntner Straße 26, visitors can marvel at old and new highlights as well as the impressive sales facilities of LOBMEYR.
