ROOM WITH A VIEW is a regional network of hotel rooms that connects eight providers of accommodation in the Salzkammergut in the shape of eight special, sustainably designed rooms. The project, which is being realized as part of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024, began with the definition by the two designers from Lucy.D of five themes typical to the region, from decorative joinery to traditional costumes, on the basis of which they and the other creative teams that they nominated – KIM+HEEP, inFABric architects, and mischer'traxler studio – developed designs for the decentralized hotel. The associated objects and furniture are subsequently created by local crafts businesses such as TREWIT. A preview of the collection can be seen in the Festival Headquarters during the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK and in the Trinkhalle in Bad Ischl from January 2024.
