Falstaff LIVING Design Awards: Newcomer Ausstellung

Falstaff LIVING, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, Jakob Niemann, Xaver Kuster, Anna Zimmermann

20.–29.9.2024

This is the first year in which the Falstaff LIVING Design Awards for outstanding creative achievement are being presented in conjunction with the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. The prize-winning work in the five categories from industrial to restaurant design is represented in the Festival Headquarters by objects from the awarded newcomers Anna Zimmermann, Jakob Niemann, and Xaver Kuster: Niemann’s “BRUSHWOOD” is made from steam-bent hazel twigs taken from the undergrowth and standardized solid timber elements. As new units, these also represent the literally branched nature of the ecosystem and, in particular, the importance of diversified forest management and the integration of often ignored resources into the largely standardized timber and furniture industry.
