Seven designers, seven projects: RAFT collective combines expertise in craftsmanship, product and industrial design with an understanding of design as a collaborative process – driven by exchange, research, and individual personal styles. The furniture and objects presented at the Festival Headquarters are thus not only the results of individual design processes, but above all demonstrate the power of interdisciplinary collaboration. The collective, with members from Aachen, Cologne, and Offenbach, was founded by Jaskarn Singh Hanspal, who impressed visitors at last year’s festival with his intimate furniture system inspired by flower calyxes and insect shells.
