The democracy coasters mix stimulating questions with drinks: the printed beer coasters are designed to spark discussions and invite people to exchange their different points of view in bars, cafés, or schools.

The idea for the colorful, question-filled beer coasters came from a scholarship project at the Young Academy Frankfurt. The 10-member group is now a non-profit association, Demokratiedeckel e. V., and has designed various editions of beer coasters. Schools, events, and initiatives use the prompts to start discussions or bring an interactive format to their events.
