Welcome to the mouse house! This year, the official VIENNA DESIGN WEEK festival bar is located at Café Mausi in the 15th district. Those who haven’t had enough after a long day at the festival (or especially those who have!) can gather here every evening (except Sundays) to chat, celebrate, and reflect on the world of design in Vienna in good company. One reason to do so is the site-specific intervention by designer Georg Adam. He reimagines an industrial brick as a modular ceramic object that can serve as a vase, pedestal, or seating furniture. The flat, step-like forms extend from the sidewalk terrace to the interior, marking transitions, stackings, and placements. Objects inscribe themselves flexibly into new contexts, balancing material, function, and atmosphere – similar to the location of this intervention: Café Mausi on Märzstraße is a space that negotiates change and atmosphere. It is a modern bar that translates the rough charm of an old Viennese Beisl into an urban bar atmosphere. Here, guests will find honest drinks, good vibes, and art on the walls. Café Mausi is the place for long, uncomplicated nights in the 15th district – as it will be during the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2025.
