Vacant buildings are full of stories (and also full of dust, animal tracks, and forgotten things). For the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, they become vibrant places for a short time. But before that happens, another journey begins: the search for the right property, the first steps through empty corridors, and the careful exploration of a building that is to be brought back to life.
This tour takes visitors behind the scenes of the Festival Headquarters – once the largest restaurant in the area and later a car dealership with showrooms and workshops – and provides insights into its temporary interim use. What does this place need to be able to do? How do you organize the move? What challenges arise when the temporary home is filled with life? Together with Alexandra Brückner, Head of Production, participants embark on a discovery tour full of hidden stories, mysterious spaces, and dark corridors. A cell phone flashlight is recommended!
A binding reservation must be made in advance.
