Joyh Design’s installation celebrates new forms of space, material innovation, and commitment to the environment. “BRIAN” stands for “Behavioral, Responsive, Innovative, Adaptive, and Nurturing” and refers to a component printed with 3D sand that is not just an object, but a living system. “BRIAN” is part of a research-oriented design project that reimagines building envelopes by integrating local sand, additive manufacturing, and advanced digital design to create thermally responsive walls. These offer a sustainable alternative to the overly complex facades of modern architecture. The 3D sand-printed patterns were produced in collaboration with technology partners Voestalpine and Sandhelden.
