THE BEAUTY OF BECOMING
Laura Winkler
28.9.2025, 6.30pm–9pm
An evening for browsing, listening, chatting, and toasting – right in the heart of the Festival Headquarters! On the first Sunday of the festival, Laura Winkler, Head of Communication, invites visitors to join her for a tour followed by a social gathering. The group exhibition FOKUS: Ageing, curated by Sandra Nuut, offers a new perspective on aging – not as a flaw, but as a creative resource. Across the three chapters “Working with Nature”, “Embracing Change”, and “Collaborating With the Past and Present”, Nuut provides insights into 26 international design positions from 15 countries that demonstrate how materials, objects, and memories gain significance over time.
After the tour, participants are invited next to an installation from Leonie Holtkamp to exchange ideas with guests from the fields of design, culture, care, and science over drinks on the topic of aging – from personal stories to cultural perspectives to social issues: What does it mean to understand aging not as a loss, but as a process?
The tour is aimed at FLINTA* and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We welcome people of all backgrounds and gender identities, but kindly ask you to consider the following when booking: Am I part of this group? We do not tolerate sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, body shaming, xenophobia, or any other discriminatory behavior.
