Projects Announced

Stadtarbeit is VIENNA DESIGN WEEK's Social Design programme, made possible through Vermehrt Schönes!, the social sponsorship initiative of Erste Bank. Under this year's theme "Open on Public Holidays", three projects have been selected that rethink celebration as a form of community, participation and social exchange.

With Achtung - Tor öffnet automatisch, Leon Theodor transforms urban garages into spaces for gathering, questioning their role within the city. DARK TIMES by Saliva Collective reclaims darkness through night walks, collective workshops and a communal dinner, creating rituals of togetherness and hope. Your Club is not my Club by Johanna Kalinke, Réka Novák, Alexander Regal and Theodora Hergheligiu reimagines the club as a multisensory, accessible space where new forms of collective celebration can emerge.

All three projects will be realised in public space during VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2026.
