Celebrating its 20th edition this year, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is teaming up with CLUSTER to support an international residency for illustrators in London that focuses heavily on artistic practice, exchange, and production.
CLUSTER has been a vital part of London’s creative scene for ten years. Driven by the mission to become one of the city's most accessible and affordable platforms, the organization has already hosted over 30 fairs, supporting designers and artists across illustration, craft, jewellery, and photography. CLUSTER also runs a Residency programme across these disciplines, providing optimal conditions for creatives to dive deep into their practice within a supportive, professional environment.
As part of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2026, this residency is being awarded specifically for the field of illustration. In addition to free accommodation, the selected artist will receive a generous studio space with access to materials, alongside personalised 1-on-1 mentoring from international experts and exhibition opportunities in London.
Furthermore, the winner and shortlisted illustrators will have the opportunity to present their work in an exhibition curated by CLUSTER at the Festival Headquarters 2026, in collaboration with the Illustrators’ Fair.
