500 visitors celebrated the start of this year's VIENNA DESIGN WEEK at the Gschwandner last night. Among the guests were Eberhard Schrempf, Nives Widauer, Markus Schinwald, Erwin Wurm, Eva Blimlinger, Hermann Czech and Gregor Eichinger.

To the start of school, we write D E S I G N with big white letters on the board: Part of this year's programme are guided tours for students (aged 10 plus), and DIY tour recommendations. Again, there are guided tours with Gabriela Steiner Scharfetter, arranged according to topics and locations.

Berlin's design gallery HELMRINDERKNECHT takes its first trip to Austria, with many contemporary design objects in its luggage and opens a pop up store during the festival at stilwerk vienna. Great objects to buy!

The Linz-based product design duo March Gut is paired together with the Fleischerei Karl Sterkl butcher shop at the Brunnenmarkt.
