COLLEGIUM HUNGARICUM WIEN – UNGARISCHES KULTURINSTITUT

Under the auspices of the Hungarian diplomatic missions, the Collegium Hungaricum Vienna – Hungarian Cultural Institute has served since 1920 as the foremost promoter of Hungarian culture, education, and science in Austria.

“Our goal is to comprehensively present Hungarian cultural heritage to the Austrian public and to the Hungarian community living here. Through cultural initiatives, our institute strengthens relations between Hungary and Austria as well as cooperation in the fields of culture, science, and education. In addition, we nurture and promote the cultural values and connections of the Hungarian community both in Hungary and abroad.”

With the opening of the PILWAX Art Space in September 2026, the Collegium Hungaricum is expanding its program to include a new venue for contemporary art, exchange, and experimental formats. The former coffee area has been transformed into an open exhibition and project space that serves as a showcase for the institution and invites visitors to explore.
